After a professionally fulfilling and
sometimes adventuresome 40 year career (Deputy Sheriff, Military Officer, FBI Special Agent, Manager of Corporate Security
for a Fortune 100 company, and Private Investigator / Security Consultant), I’ve decided to try something new, something
that I plan to take satisfaction in, and be challenged by, regardless of remunerative considerations. I'm available
to consult with attorneys, private investigators, security professionals, business management, and members of the
public regarding complex investigations and security issues. I will conduct these consultations in person or via
telephone -- whichever the client prefers. My objective is to save a potential client some wear-and-tear on a proposed
project, and get them set up with the proper resources to appropriately accomplish the job in a timely manner --
not to mention potentially saving the client some money. Contact me if you'd simply like a good referral for basic
investigative work. That service is free in the Portland Metro area. If you'd like to meet with me in person to
discuss a more complex project or issue, that can be arranged. Fees for the more personalized services are negotiable,
and should be discussed in advance. If clearly warranted, particularly in the areas of 'crime against person,' I will
from time to time accept pro bono consultations / assignments with victims or their immediate representatives
-- as a public service.
I plan to continue with my Blog which
will be accessible directly or through a hyper-link (www.truenelson.com) in my website. The Blog will be an opportunity to expand my opinions on a whole host of subjects
involving law enforcement, judicial process, investigations, crime, and security consulting – as well as to interact
with the public and other professionals. Do I consider myself an expert? I’m not really sure. I will try
not to presume too much. Nonetheless, I would like to remain relevant in my profession, and plan to draw
upon my years of experience, education and training to assist others. Additionally, I hope to make the
material presented in my website and Blog both beneficial and entertaining. I
plan to use my website to write ‘whitepapers’ on various subjects. Said ‘whitepapers’
will be essays designed to inform the public, perhaps even other professionals, about topics in which they may hold a particular interest.
I must require a nominal fee for the purchase of these white papers. Some of them require considerable research, and
the benefit of years of hard-earned experience; and I feel they will save potential clients money in the long run.
